Release Note: 3.0.0-alpha-s.22
Welcome to the latest Activator version! This update brings bug fixes, new features, and improvements all around the system. Some changes are not visible to the end-user.
Let's explore what's new!
See the following explanations for enablement options:
AUTO-ON: Automatically activated and no configuration is required before using the feature; in some cases, a new feature is dependent on another feature that must be enabled or configured.
CONFIGURATION: Anthill must turn on or configure the feature before it is available to use or is active; for example, an Admin must add document templates before users can create documents from templates.
What’s new in 3.0.0-alpha-s.22
Advanced Media Card meta-data Handling
Media cards now support enhanced metadata integration across various connectors, allowing a more detailed and tailored presentation for each media type. Updates to the MediaCard component ensure seamless rendering of custom metadata, expanding the versatility and functionality of media representations. AUTO-ON
Integration with Vault
This release marks the introduction of our Vault integration, bringing powerful new capabilities to streamline workflows and enhance document management.
The ability to Import Vault Documents allows users to bring Vault documents into Activator while retaining their metadata. This ensures a seamless integration process and supports workflows such as material document imports.
Documents can then be linked to the Vault Design System, aligning them with design system standards. This integration ensures consistency across projects, keeps design elements synchronized, and facilitates collaboration.
With Vault Publishing, users can automate workflows based on client-specific configurations. By reading configuration data, the system manages complex tasks such as generating reports, executing custom actions, and creating draft versions directly within Vault.
Vault Resource Relationships establish links between documents and associated resources, such as renditions or attachments. These relationships enhance organization and provide a clear view of interconnected content.
Finally, the Vault Distribution Package Generation feature bundles essential email components—HTML, assets, and thumbnails—into a single ZIP file for efficient delivery. Future updates will expand this functionality to support additional document types.
These new features represent the first phase of our Vault integration, laying the groundwork for a more comprehensive and efficient document management experience. CONFIGURATION
Design System Enhancements
Design System View
The new Design System View streamlines design workflows with an intuitive Topbar featuring a publish button and a detailed Sidepanel for managing projects. The Sidepanel is organized into categories like General, Colors, and the Email Channel, which includes layouts and templates. This structure provides quick access to essential design components, improving collaboration and efficiency. AUTO-ON
Design System Import Redirection
Importing a Design System now redirects users directly to the Design System View, ensuring smooth navigation and efficient access to design resources. This update simplifies setup and management within the Rosaline domains. AUTO-ON
URL Encoding for External Providers
Ensure the integrity and security of the external URLs by implementing proper encoding. With the need to encode spaces with %20
and similar encoding practices, we’ve improved the handling of URLs coming from external sources. This update mitigates issues with malformed URLs from unreliable external providers. AUTO-ON
Define meta-data fields for Email Fragments
When converting an Email to a Email Fragment, the user can now define the configured meta-data fields. The dropdown selections pull data directly from the Digital Asset Management system, streamlining your workflow by sending the selected fields back to Aprimo upon publication. This improvement allows for a more integrated and accurate data management process tailored to your project needs.
You have the flexibility to configure these fields on a per-client basis, making it easier to manage specifications unique to each account. The product field uses a single-select format, while the country field offers a multi-select option, and both fields benefit from dynamic filtering. By utilizing the parent document's (email's) data, filters are prefilled for added convenience, enhancing the efficiency of your content creation process. CONFIGURATION
Undo / Redo actions
The Designer/Editor now supports Undo and Redo functionalities, allowing users to easily revert changes made to documents. Users can undo and redo actions such as adding or removing elements, and manipulating media in image/video components. This feature empowers users to effortlessly correct mistakes and experiment with their designs without fear of permanent alterations.
Activate these capabilities through intuitive buttons located in the bottom left corner of your screen, or by using familiar keyboard shortcuts: CTRL+Z (Win) / Command+Z (Mac) for undo, and CTRL+Y (Win) / Shift+Command+Z (Mac) for redo. The undo and redo actions do not apply to individual changes in the style panel, keeping the focus on document-level revisions. AUTO-ON
Bugfixes
Skeleton Display for Email Fragments When importing Email Fragments, a skeleton now appears in the Fragment-panel to enhance the user interface experience.
Improve MLR Meta Data Display The meta data section in the MLR view now hides irrelevant blocks and exclusively displays the Preheader.
PDF Right Panel Adjustment The right panel on MLR PDFs now maintains a consistent width across all pages.
Authentication Error Redirects Authentication errors now properly redirect users to the login page, preventing endless loading loops during import.
PDF Generation Consistency Resolved issues with PDF documents not matching the Activator preview by aligning column widths, fonts, and respecting media queries.
Validation Error for Convert-to-Fragment Resolved an issue where design system relations were not being set in Aprimo, leading to validation errors during the convert-to-fragment process.
Streamlined Resource Import Validation Resources no longer require validation for external thumbnails during import, as our system generates its own thumbnails, ensuring a smoother import process.
Improved Detection of Design Systems During Import Resolved an issue where design systems were incorrectly detected as resources, ensuring accurate importation into the wizard.
MLR Report Publication Timing Resolved an issue where large MLR reports were published prematurely due to early appearance of the mlr-pdf-ready class, ensuring accurate PDF generation timing.
Display Title Below Link Links in MLR now display their titles, ensuring clarity and improved navigation for users.
Document Publishing MLR Report Issue The system no longer attempts to generate an MLR report when a document is configured as a viewable rendition, preventing unnecessary publish failures.
Activator Interface Loading Issue Resolved Resolved an issue where the Activator Interface was not loading when the "Open in Activator" option was clicked, remedied by clearing cache and refreshing the page.
Email Fragments Linking Email fragments now maintain relationships with parent emails, preserve media assets, and include mjml files to enhance content accuracy and integrity during publishing.
Import BMP Files in Media Library Resolved an issue in the Media Library that prevented BMP files from being imported successfully.
Login Redirection Issue Resolved an issue where users were incorrectly redirected to the dashboard instead of the document upon first login due to session token mismatches.
