The Dashboard gives an overview of current documents in Activator and makes it possible to return to a document directly within Activator instead of having to open it through the DAM.
Provides the ability for Brand Designers to save updated and newly created Layouts and Helpers back into the Design System.
The Design System UI gives an overview of the content available to users, such as Layouts and Templates, as well as the option to define and modify the contents.
The undo/redo buttons will not be visible in the editor/designer and make it possible for users to undo and redo their actions in the canvas area.
Editor mode offers a simplified editing experience, using only predefined layouts. Fields can be toggled on/off, and layouts reordered to fit the use case. Text, images, links, alt-text, and preheader (for emails) are adjustable in this view.
Before publishing a document, make sure to deselect the active element to trigger an edit event. Ensure all pending edit events are processed before publishing and showing the preview.
To enhance the Media Library experience, filters will be pre-selected based on document metadata. For example, if a document has metadata for Product and Country, these values will be automatically selected in the relevant filters.
Check to ensure users are authenticated before any action is performed, to avoid session expires while performing actions like failed publishes or stalled media library loading. This middleware will verify login status before interacting with the system.
MLR View and Report will enable reviewers to see any hidden information,
such as links and alt-text as part of the MLR View and MLR Report, even
when not using Content Modules.
To enhance Aprimo search efficiency, we will implement selective field retrieval. This will reduce data transfer by limiting responses to only necessary fields, cutting down on redundant information.
Email Fragments are reuseable content pieces within an Email. Email Fragments can be created directly within an Email and then converted into an Email Fragment or created elsewhere and linked to an Email.
Ability to simultaneously do actions from an integration user instead of the user performing the action, to ensure proper permissions are in place.
Show additional meta-data from the DAM on the Media Cards in the Media Library, to help the user identify the assets.
Activator-specific fields, such as environment used and modification timestamp, should be populated to the document upon triggering of a Publish.
Currently all imported resources are set in the relationship on the document in the connected DAM (i.e. Aprimo). But for the correct setup, we should only set a relationship from the document to the resources (medias) that are actually in use.
Introducing the ability to send test emails directly from the application. This feature integrates SMTP and AWS setup scripts and allows repurposing existing scripts for seamless email delivery. You can follow the provided links to the scripts in our Bitbucket repository and Terraform documentation for detailed setup. Utilize the 'send email' capability imported from Blackburn and send the compiled email to user-inputted addresses. Trigger this action with the send-test-email event, and upon success, the system will return test-email-sent to the frontend. By clicking the ‘send test email’ button, users can now trigger a popup to input an email address and initiate the send functionality. This update enhances the ability to quickly test and preview email communications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your workflows
Thumbnails from Aprimo is limited by a TTL and we'll need to generate our own rendition of the asset and use in the UI.
The Settings popup shows selected metadata from Activator and available metadata from the DAM. It includes fetching metadata from the DAM, a settings popup UI, a last modified timestamp, and an 'open in DAM' link.
As it is possible in the Preview, users will be able to toggle to another viewport directly within the editing experience - allowing them to see how content will appear on various devices without having to Preview.
Supporting both the Designer and Editor role.
Ability for users to use local (uploaded directly to a document and used only by it) assets and shared (available across all documents associated to the same Design System), and ensure they are packaged with the document upon distribution.
Extended Notifications is another layer to the Snackbar notifications. It will provide the user with a log of prior notifications, which are (persistently) gathered and found in the Notification Bell.
The translating feature makes it possible to compare the text of two documents side by side. Additionally, it'll be possible to export and share translation files.
The Briefcase enables copying across documents using the same Design System. Copy as many items as you need from one document, open another document, and see your copied items displayed in the Briefcase to simply drag into your document.
Share enables users to share a preview link with others, download a PDF with the current state of the document, or export translation files as well as the source code for the document.
When there are multiple renditions available for a Media Asset, the user will be able to select a specific rendition to be used. Additionally, Activator will support the use of the CDN link on the Media Asset instead of using the source.
Modular Content contains the options to review and import, as well as use predefined Content Modules and the items within. Items from a content module can then be linked to different Elements within a Layouy, such as headlines, paragraphs and/or images.
Extend the existing MLR View and Report to consider actual Content Modules and how they deviate. This will be indicated with the "traffic-light system".
To improve Media Library searches, we'll add static filters to the search query and results will be processed based on the Connector settings. These static filters are always applied to searches but are not visible in the user interface.
Document Locking supports that two people cannot edit the same document at the same time to prevent overwriting each other's changes.
Mark a document as a favorite by clicking the star icon to make it easy to find again. All your favorites are available from the tab on the Dashboard.
Notes make it possible to leave comments directly in the document, potentially for someone else to review or change.
